Dorothy Francis Stewart, 89, of Bremen passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 6, 2022, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.
She was born October 20, 1932, in Muhlenberg County to the late Charlie and Maggie Jones. She married Delbert Stewart on August 2, 1952 and briefly worked at G.E. before taking on her favorite roles of homemaker and mother. Family was her greatest joy, and Dorothy lived a long life in devotion to them and was loved equally in return. She was known for her excellent cooking, quiet nature and dedication to her loved ones. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers and birdwatching around her home. She especially looked forward to warm weather so she could spend time on the carport visiting with family and friends. Dorothy was a devout Christian and a charter member of Powers Chapel General Baptist Church in Bremen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Delbert, brother Archie “Bud” Jones and sister Anna Sue Miller.
She is survived by her sons: Terry (Lisa) Stewart and Gary (Annette) Stewart, both of Central City; grandchildren: Amanda (Thomas) Shanks, Amy (Mark Spain) Stewart, Blake (Lauren) Stewart, Jordan (Drew) Meador and Travis Drake; five great-grandsons; and brother: Charles “Bebo” (Pat) Jones.
Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at Powers Chapel General Baptist Church in Bremen with Bro. J.W Haire officiating and Bro. Brian Haire assisting. Visitation will be held before the funeral service, starting at 10:00AM on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at the church.
