Betty J. Galloway, 85, of Philpot passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Princess Ann County, Virginia native was born March 17, 1937, to the late Matthew Methuselah Bruce and Mary McClannan Bruce. Betty loved her family and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her best memories were of family vacations at the beach and Christmas time together. Betty enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans and giving them as gifts to family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Betty worked for over 20 years and retired from Glenmore Distillery in 2003.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, John A. Bruce, Florence Smith, and Matthew Lionel Bruce.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her daughter, Frances Malony and husband Mark of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Erin N. Boggs (Aaron), Nathan A. Malony, and Shawn P. Malony; four great grandchildren, Keira, Ian, Duncan, and Corwin Boggs; niece, Kathy Doherty.
A memorial service for Betty Galloway will be 2:00 pm, Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation from 12:00 pm until time of service. Interment will be in the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church.
