David Lee Hillard

August 2, 1955 - October 24, 2018

David Lee Hillard, (Reverend Dave), (Dirty Dave), age 63, of Owensboro, KY, previously of Livermore went to be with the Lord on October 24th 2018 , in the arms of his best friend his wife, and under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.

David was born on August 2nd, 1955. He was in the U.S. Marines, worked as a truck driver for many years, enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping, singing karaoke, and shooting pool. Most of all though he loved talking, joking, and laughing with his family and friends, also studying the Bible, and preaching his extensive knowledge of the Bible to others.

David was proceeded in death by his parents, Estle Murl and Phyllis Ray Hillard; and a Brother Dennis Wayne Hillard, all previously of Livermore.

David is survived by his wife, companion, and best friend of 14 years, Brenda W. Hillard “Crackerjack” of Owensboro; a daughter, Crinnia Hillard Godinez (Edgar) of Jewel City; a stepdaughter, Brandyll Shew (TC) of Illinois; a stepson, Darick Taylor of Central City; six brothers and sisters, Debrah Gillette (Kenneth), Howard Hillard (Charlene), Rose Howard, Teresa Mason (Ricky), Carla Kassinger, all of Livermore, and Estle Hillard Jr. ”Buddy” “Mush” (Darlene) of Utica; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many near to his heart family and friends, who, until they can all be together again, will sadly miss his presence, and witty sense of humor in their lives.

Cremation will be handled by James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, Ky. A Memorial Service/Combined Potluck will be held at the Livermore City Hall (105 West 3rd Street Livermore, KY 42352), on November 10th 2018 from 1pm-4pm. Please bring a dish for the potluck. Burial will be held in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro at a later unspecified date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to: Community Church, c/o Reverend Bruce Mason, 2988 State Route 136 E., Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Donations can be mailed to the above address and contribution envelopes will be provided at the Memorial Service.
