Deborah Ann Payne, 64, of Owensboro was called home November 3, 2018, lovingly surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Fort Sill, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother D. Ann Hixenbaugh, her father Norman Allen Wilson, and her stepfather Robert L. Hixenbaugh.
Debbie devoted her time to caring for others as a nurse of over 20 years and as a loving, dedicated wife, mother and friend. She always shared her talents for sewing, crafting, mechanics and cooking with those close to her. She enjoyed traveling, reading, Nascar and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. Her passions and talents will be fondly missed.
Debbie is lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 47 years, Ronald J. Payne. She was the devoted mother of Dawn (Danny) Johnson, Tabitha (Ben) Grant, Kelly (Ethan Hagan) Payne and Robert Payne; proud grandmother of Jessica (Roger) Boling, Tyler (Emma) Grant, Meredith Grant and Bryson Payne; loving great-grandmother of Harper Boling and Liam, Josephine and Theodore Grant; remembered fondly by her siblings Pam Lane, Mike Wilson, Tammy (Steve) Lott and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
In honor of Debbie’s love for children, memorial contributions may be made to It’s My Very Own of Owensboro, a charity that provides handmade bags of love for children in need.
