Hazel Mae Lucas, 94 of Hardinsburg, KY, died on September 6, 2022 at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility. She was born in Lodiburg, KY on August 24, 1928 to the late Wilson Carter and Maggie Morris Carter. Hazel was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working puzzle books, mowing grass and taking care of her home. She was considered to be an “extreme” housekeeper. Hazel loved her family and and grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Lucas; sisters: Ruby Fentress and Libby Lucas and a brother, James Carter.
Hazel is survived by her sons: Gary Lucas (Brenda) and Maurice Lucas (Vicki) of Hardinsburg, KY and her daughter, Libby Critchelow (Lane) of Leitchfield, KY
Brothers: Jesse Carter of Tennessee, Larry Carter of Virginia and Howard Carter of Missouri
4 Grandchildren: Kelly Jo Eysenbach, Dustin Kyle Lucas, Kris Glenn and Lauren Chaffins
