CENTRAL CITY – George Ruby Welborn, 90, of Central City, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 1:10AM at Greenville Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Welborn was born January 6, 1932, in Ohio County. He was a laborer for Boots Manufacturing in Evansville, IN, and also was a cab driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Welborn; mother, Mossie Mathis; brothers, Habrey Joines, Wilbert Joines, and Raliegh Welborn; and sister, Darlene Stader.
He is survived by his daughters, Gail (Paul) Kelley of Palm Cost, FL, Kathi Evans of Central City, Frieda JoAnn Givens of Central City, and Tammy (Eddie) Novack of Greenville; son, Ruben (Vicki) Wood of Powderly; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
