Glenn Carpenter

July 19, 1934 - November 7, 2018

Glenn Carpenter 84, of Maceo, KY was called to his heavenly home, November 7, 2018, from his earthly home with his wife and son at his bedside.  He was born July 19,1934 to the late John and Rosie Carpenter. Glenn was a member of the Grandview Church of the Nazarene in Grandview, IN. Over the years, he served in the Nazarene church and won the Kentucky District Sunday School Superintendent of the Year Award. Glenn always served the church in many capacities. 

He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Owensboro Citizens Police Academy Alumina Association working to support the brave efforts of all our local First Responders. Glenn worked as a Millwright Oiler and retired from Domtar in Hawesville after working 28 years. He loved fishing and went on family camping trips and with his 4 wheeler loved going on long trail rides. Glenn was an avid Kentucky Basketball fan. He loved his beagle dogs. They had him trained.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom and Salla Carpenter; his sister, Beulah Bryant.

Glenn is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 64 years, Berdena; his son, Gary Carpenter (Carla) of Hawesville; his grandchildren, Brent Carpenter(Michelle) of

Westmoreland, TN and Grant Carpenter (Kimberly) of Boca Raton, FL; his sisters, Joyce Arthur and Sally Powell; his brothers, Walker, Denver (Mae), Earl (Carol), Don and Wendall; several nieces and nephews.

The service will be 2pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.  Brother Larry Eaton will officiate.  The visitation will be 4-8PM Saturday and 12 noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.  The burial will be in Serenity Hills Cemetery in Hawesville.
