J. Ann Beeler Owen

June 1, 1939 - November 7, 2018

J. Ann Beeler Owen, 79, was welcomed to heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at her home. She had many favorite scriptures, but one of her favorites was John 14:2, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Born June 1, 1939 in Spencer County, IN, she was the daughter of the late J. Ward and Josephine Cook Beeler. Mrs. Owen retired from Owensboro Mercy Health System (OMHS) where she worked as a nurse for 35 years; was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church; and was a member of the GOEL Chapter #104 Order of the Eastern Star for nearly 60 years serving in every capacity and was a state officer in 1986-87. Her Eastern Star friends were family to her.

After retirement from OMHS, she worked for the Green River District Health Department as a clinic nurse, immunization nurse and school health nurse at Audubon and East View Elementary Schools.

Surviving are children, Jennifer Millay and Amy Jo Nix of Owensboro, and Richard “Rick” (Eva) Owen of Louisville; grandchildren, Corbin Millay, Logan (Kristen) Millay, Addison Nix, Ansley Nix, Madalyn Owen, and Marissa Owen; great-grandchildren, Arrlow and Waylon Millay;
Brothers, Max (Rosemary) Beeler of Salt Springs, FL and Larry (Regina) Beeler of Rockport; and a sister, Jo Emily Keyer of Evansville.

Services, including an Eastern Star Service, will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Gerald Peeples and Rev. Dr. Herschel Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday and after 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Bethabara Baptist Church or GOEL Chapter #104 Order of the Eastern Star.
