Anna Lee Lane Dockery

July 28, 1942 - November 13, 2018

Anna Lee Lane Dockery, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home. She was a kind sole who will be dearly missed. She was born July 28, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William Franklin and Odessa Powers Lane. Anna Lee was retired from Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital after nearly 40 years having worked in the laundry.

Anna Lee was an avid sports fan who loved baseball, softball, football, basketball especially U.K., and watching car racing. She loved spending time with her family and talking about her family tree. Her greatest passion was watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids play in their various sports, cheering them on, and loved eating the cheeseburgers at the games. She was known as “Grandma” by many of the parents at the ballfields and they always loved seeing her. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite T.V. show, Wheel of Fortune. Anna Lee collected miniature dolphins and angel cheribs. Her favorite places to eat were Golden Corral and the BBQ ribs at Texas Roadhouse. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach and looking at license plates to see what states people were from.

Besides her parents, Anna Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Dockery in August of 1975, a son, William Dockery on June 8, 2013, and a brother, Robert Lane in 1984.

Anna Lee is survived by three sons, Homer (Carol) Lane, Roger (Tammy) Dockery, and Tony (Cindy) Dockery, all of Owensboro, 12 grandchildren, Randy (Sara) Lane, Michael (Kelli) Lane, Jarrett Dockery, Kendall Dockery, Dalton Dockery,Jessica Dockery, Crystal Polston, Alesandra Dockery, Jacklyn Dockery, Brooke Dockery, Brittany and Brianna Dockery, 12 great grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy (Earl) Cotton of Stanley, Margaret (James) Browning of Bremen, and Leona Wathen of Owensboro, two brothers, Sam (Sonja) Lane of Owensboro and Joe (Tammy) Lane of Utica, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Beth.

The funeral service for Anna Lee Lane Dockery will be Noon Friday, November 16, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
