Kathryn Patton Hayden

April 26, 1928 - November 11, 2018

Kathryn Patton Hayden, 90, of Utica went to be with her Lord Sunday, November 11, 2018. She was born in Daviess County on April 26, 1928, to the late Beckham and Ocie Patton. Kathryn was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church where she was very active and served as Sunday School teacher and Bible School director for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Morton Hayden, their infant son, Michael Wayne Hayden, and her younger brother Robert Earl Patton.

She is survived by her children, Karen Hayden of Quincy California, Bobby Hayden (Debbie) of Utica, Kenneth Hayden of Louisville; sisters Donnita Adkins (Delmar) of Utica and Janice Marksberry (Alton) of Spice Knob; grandchildren Melissa Nelson of Quincy California, Sarah Hayden Simpson (Larry) of Owensboro, and Megan Hayden of Tampa, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Cunnagin of Owensboro and Sadie of Quincy, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathryn deeply loved her children, her sisters and grandchildren. She just loved people in general. She enjoyed having family, friends, and neighbors stop by to join her on her porch swing to talk about flowers and any other pressing topics of the day. She loved to walk through her flower gardens looking at each variety as if it were her first time seeing it. Her fascination with humming birds led to her feeding hundreds of them every summer.
She was loved by many and will be sorely missed until we meet her again.

Visitation will be in the Chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday November 18, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A memorial service led by Torrey Hunter will be at 3:00 pm.
