Margaret Jane Higdon Skelton, 81, of Taylorsville, formerly of Knottsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. She was born February 14, 1937 in Livermore to the late Gus and Janie Aud Higdon. Margaret was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. She was an avid supporter of the Disabled American Veterans and fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved cooking with her son-in-law, Mat. Margaret was also preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lee Skelton on June 17, 2013.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Serena Brooks and husband Mat of Taylorsville, two grandchildren, Dylan Alexander Brooks and Bailey Elizabeth-Drake Brooks, both of Taylorsville, three sisters, Patricia “Patsy” Roby of Owensboro, Mary Helen Rhodes and husband Tony of Knottsville, and Clara “Sissy” Lyninger and husband Bill of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
The Memorial Service for Margaret Jane Skelton will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
