Edna Earl Slinker

July 4, 1943 - November 16, 2022

Edna Earl Slinker  79, of Sacramento, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home in Sacramento.  Edna Earl Brown was born July 4, 1943 in Island, Kentucky to the late George Vernon and Mary Lee Thompson Brown and was married to Louie Monzel Slinker August 8, 1962.  Edna Earl worked as a medtech and nurses aid at Sunny Acres in Calhoun for 43 years and was a member of the Baptist Faith.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed caring for her flowers, softball and spending time with both her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Edna Earl was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Monzel Slinker, who died November 13, 2022 and by a niece, Chas Cardwell.

Survivors include four daughters, Mischelle Nelson (Joe Mack) of Bremen, Shannon Slinker Welborn of Powderly, Angel Carlisle of Madisonville, and Whitney Eubanks (Chris) of Sacramento; a son, the Rev. Troy Slinker (Laura) of Sacramento; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Darlene Edmonds and Denise Bishop both of Island.

A celebration of Edna Earl’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 18th at Sacramento United Methodist Church with her son, the Rev. Troy Slinker officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.  Friends may visit with Edna Earl’s family from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Friday at Sacramento United Methodist Church.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Edna Earl’s family.  A reception for friends and family will be held at the church following the service.
