Jean Compton, age 90 of Garfield, KY passed away November 20, 2022 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Meade County, KY on March 29, 1932, daughter of the late Barney and Frances Edlen Hager. Jean was a member of Garfield Baptist Church and former employee of Eleanor Beard Studio. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, reading and offering a helping hand to those in need. She loved her family and was always excited for visits with her grandchildren and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Randall, her husband of 52 years and her daughter Helen Cercy.
Jean is survived by 5 children: Billie Hammett of Palm Bay, FL; Donna Compton of Garfield, KY; Cathy Wright and Randall Compton of Middleberg, FL and Jerry Compton of Melbourne Beach, FL.
12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren
3 sisters: Barbara Huskey of Oklahoma; Helen Smith of Vine Grove, KY and Catherine Compton of Irvington, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 7 PM with visitation beginning at 4 PM. All times are central.
