Richard Arlyn Shaffer, 78, of Margate, Florida passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 in Deerfield
Beach, Florida with his son by his side. He was born October 11, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa to the late Raymond Alvin Shaffer and Clara Alice Shaner Shaffer. He was a machinery mechanic. He enjoyed watching basketball, football and playing poker with friends. His favorite teams where Kentucky Wildcats and the Miami Dolphins.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Janice Paulette Black Shaffer on July 18, 2011.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Kirtley Shaffer and his fiancé, Felicia Bitonti, and her daughter Leia Bitonti of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Burial will be private at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
