Dale R. Severs, 64, of Hawesville, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Brandenburg, KY on March 3, 1958 to the late George H. and Thelma L. Nelson Severs. Dale was a Tankerman, working many years in the Great Lakes area and US river systems on a tow boat. He enjoyed UK basketball, gardening, fishing and birdwatching. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul Severs and David Severs; nephew, Billy Severs.
Dale is survived by wife of 45 years, Karen Hanks Severs; sons, Josh (Katie) Hanks, Nick (Amy) Severs and Travis (Leslie) Severs; father in law, Bo Hanks; grandchildren, Kenzie, Noah, Hunter, Addison, Martin, Colten, Stella and Carter; siblings, Janice (Mike) Curry, Judy (Joe) Schnitterbaum, Robin (Dale) Frank, Becky (Chuck) Shelman, George Severs, Sr., Larry (Martha Jean) Severs, Kevin Severs and Bill (Bonnie) Severs along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel. Burial will follow services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Hawesville. Dale’s family will be greeting friends on Thursday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
