LEWISBURG, KY., Barbara Ellen Richards, 74, of Lewisburg passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born in Muhlenberg County on December 5, 1948 the daughter of Shelby Lee Jones and Nettie Middleton Jones. She worked for Trane Company in Clarksville, TN for 28 years and she was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to yard sales, and being outside.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John W. Richards, a daughter Penny Ellen McGhee, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is survived by 2 sons Barry (Malissa) McGhee of Lewisburg and Dan (Ashen) McGhee of Lewisburg, 2 step-sons Bobby (Betty) Richards of Cedar Hill, TN and David (Lisa) Richards of Cedar Hill, TN., 4 grandchildren Haley McGhee, Carley McGhee, Emma McGhee, and Will McGhee, 3 step-grandchildren Casey Richards, Quentin Richards, and Sarah Beth Richards, several great-grandchildren, 2 brothers C. W. (Wynona) Jones of Hopkinsville and Wayne (Carolyn) Jones of Edwardsville, IL., and 1 sister Sue Nell (Wayburn) Costello of Greenville.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 18 from 5:00 until 8:00PM at Gary’s Funeral Home
in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 AM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Frankie Lee Skipworth, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery.
