Jerald Bruce Lynn

March 13, 1948 - January 19, 2023

Jerald Bruce Lynn was born March 13, 1948 to Hubert and Maxine Lynn of Jerseyville, Illinois, where he spent his childhood. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Lynn and sister, Nyle Lynn. According to his surviving sister, Paula, Jerry as a kid liked playing outdoors and riding his bike. He’d scare his sister Paula and pinch her with his toes. Their mother blessed them with nicknames, Paula “Leaky” and Jerry “Stinky”. They carried those nicknames with each other their whole life.

After finishing high school, Jerry recalled that he had received a letter from “his friends and neighbors” informing him that his country needed his service. In 1968 Jerry joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany where his field of expertise was high level explosives. He served in the Army for 2 years.

After completing his military duty, Jerry began his life of service to others. His natural ability to know something about everything made him the perfect jack of all trades. He often would answer calls from family, friends, and co-workers who needed help or assistance. Jerry’s reputation was that of a selfless nature. He worshiped and served at Hopewell Baptist Church as a member and treasurer for 40 years.

Jerry grew a strong work ethic throughout his adult life. He was a faithful employee to Kimballs International for 28 years. There he made many of his lifelong friends. One of whom wrote this about him “A true friend is never gone. Their spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved them”.

Jerry Lynn had many accomplishments in his lifetime but the one that made him the most proud was of his family. He was a devoted husband “Bunkin”, father, brother, and grandfather. He always put their needs before his own.

Jerry went to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He will continue to be loved, missed, and remembered by his wife of 14 years, Robbie; his sons, Jerry Lee (Lindsey) Lynn, Dylan (Rachel) Lynn, Billy (Chrystal) Henderson, Joseph Autry, and Blake (Tori) Cannon; daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Hawes, and Toshia (Shane) Embry; grandchildren, Eric, Colton, Ella, Tyler, Jacob, Katlynn, Carson, Mason, Hunter, Wyatt, Kylie, Luna, Larrisa, Kaitlynn, Kaden, Jenna, and Eryka; great grandson, Miles, and sister, Paula (Paul) Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with John Daugherty and Garrett Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard.
