Cecilia Leone Prewitt, 95, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Golden Living Center – Lincoln Hills. She was born in Daviess County on September 2, 1923 to the late Mary Florene Stallings and William George Blandford. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and volunteered at the Pitino Shelter. Cecilia retired from General Electric where she worked for 37 years. She enjoyed quilting at the Elizabeth Munday Center, playing cards, gardening, cooking and spending time with family.
Along with her parents, Cecilia was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 step-son.
Cecilia is survived by her children: A.B. (Terri) Prewitt, of Owensboro, Curtis (Lisa) Prewitt, of Paducah, Dianne (C.J.) Gross, of Lexington, and Judy (Billy) Dowell, of Lewisport; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Marie Thompson of Owensboro, and Emogene (Frank) Alvey, of Louisville.
Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, and again from 8:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
