
MORTONS GAP, KY., Flora Bell Gibson, 92, of Mortons Gap passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Ridgewood Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born in Muhlenberg County on May 11, 1930 the daughter of Henry Thomas Majors and Raine Groves Majors. She was a member of White Plains Holiness Church and she retired from Ford Motor Company as a factory worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Gilbert Brown, her second husband Huston Vanvactor, her 3rd husband Grover Cleveland Gibson, son Lyndel “Bud” Ray, daughter Jean Brown Ward, daughter-in-law Barbara Ann Jones Brown, 1 sister Hallie Majors Humphrey, 3 brothers Fount Majors, Orville Majors, and Jesse Majors.
She is survived by 1 son Gilbert Lee Brown of Dawson Springs, 4 granddaughters Lisa Brown, Kim Johnson, Annette (Howard) Ford, and Stacey (Chuck) Riggs, 10 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with Rev. Howard Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Yeargin’s Chapel in Graham, KY.
