Leona "Lee" Woolf

January 16, 1924 - December 16, 2018

Leona “Lee” Woolf, 94, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Owensboro Center. Mrs. Woolf was born January 16, 1924 in Jennings County, Indiana to the late Frank and Minnie Crulo Jeffries. She grew up learning how to cook standing on a stool at her mothers side. Lee would ride her horse, Barney, to a one room school house she attended each day. After marrying her sweetheart, Lynell Woolf, in 1942, she began working at the Cummings Engine plant while he served in the Army. After the war, she raised a daughter, while displaying her excellent domestic skills of sewing, cooking, and baking. After her daughter, Linda, was married and gone, Lynell and Lee enjoyed camping across the country as well as gardening and playing Bunko. Lee loved her Schnauzer dogs, Peppe, Winnie, and most recently Abby. One of her favorite things to do was go out to eat with her daughter at Beef O’Brady’s or Cheddars.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woolf was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lynell Woolf in 2000; brother, Chesley Jeffries; and sister, Challis Jeffries.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda Brey and husband Ivo of Philpot; granddaughter Lori Boswell of Owensboro; two great grandsons, Brandon and Cole Boswell; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Lee Woolf will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 20 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10:00 am till time of service. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
