Shelby Jean Morris Jarboe, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Maceo, Kentucky to the late Ira Newton and Katie May Lancaster Morris.
Mrs. Jarboe was a graduate of Daviess County High School and a long-time member of Maceo Baptist Church. She retired from Pinkerton Tobacco after eighteen years of service. Family was the most important part of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Robert M. Jarboe in 2012; sisters, Anna Belle Shelton and Eva Cameron; and brothers, Leo, Malcolm, Ernest and Bill Morris.
Shelby is survived by sons, Robert Michael “Mike” Jarboe and Timothy Wayne “Tim” (Shannon) Jarboe, both of Owensboro; granddaughter, Courtney Jarboe Courtney (Chase) of Olive Branch, MS; great-grandchildren, Khloe Alexandra Courtney and Jaxon Hastie; step-grandson, Cody Poole; a sister-in-law, Shirley Tunstall; a special nephew, Jimmy Lee Jarboe; and her beloved dog, Cruiser 215.
The service will be 12:00 PM, Friday, December 21 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
