Melanie Ann Vincent Burks, a compassionate, creative, loving, and talented woman was born on August 23, 1968, in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She passed away on June 8, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. As American poet Maya Angelou beautifully said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Melanie’s warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Melanie Burks resided in Falls of Rough, Kentucky, and had a genuine love for animals, especially her dog Jessie and her cat Sam, who she rescued. She was known for her creative and artistic talents, which she showcased through her love for painting, drawing, and crocheting. She had recently purchased a new set of needles for her crocheting projects, always looking forward to the next opportunity to create something beautiful. Her kind-hearted nature and passion for her hobbies brought joy and inspiration to her loved ones.

Melanie is survived by her brother Carl Vincent. She is preceded in death by her father, James Vincent; mother, Gloria Vincent; sister, Melinda Newton; and brother, Michael Vincent. Melanie’s life was filled with love and care for those around her. Her memory will live on through the cherished moments shared with her family and friends. As Vincent van Gogh said, “The best way to know life is to love many things.” Melanie’s love for her family, friends, and hobbies exemplified this sentiment.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Leitchfield Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
