Guyneth M. Richeson, 90, of Owensboro died Monday, January 7, 2019 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Muhlenberg County to the late Wilbur J. Mercer and Virgie Jones Mercer. Guyneth was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and retired from General Electric, where she worked for 28 years. She was Valedictorian of her high school graduating class, enjoyed U K Basketball, quilting, was an excellent seamstress and cook, especially of desserts, and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Richeson; a daughter, Tonya Richeson; a son, James Norris; and a sister, Marie Vincent.
Survivors include her daughters, Shelia Lindsey and her husband, Walter, of Owensboro and Linda Moore and her husband, Jackie, of Kincaid, IL; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Forrest Mercer and his wife, Juanita, of Louisville; a sister, Inez Daniels of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
