Dennis Alan Layman, 44, of Owensboro passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 due to a tragic work- related accident. Born in Owensboro on February 8, 1974, he was a 1992 graduate of Owensboro High School where he was a member of the band; was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force; and had worked as an ASRS Technician for Sazerac/Glenmore Distillery since 2017. Dennis was a member of Christ Community Church and was a very caring, loving, godly man. He always puts his family and faith first in his life, especially his loving wife, daughters and new grandson. He was a Batman and Avengers comics fanatic and enjoyed fishing and the Tennessee Titans, UK Sports, and the New York Yankees.
Surviving are his wife and soulmate, Casandra Layman; daughters, Ashley Layman and Rachel Layman; sons, Taylor Clary and Ryan Clary; grandson, Richard Edmonds; his parents, Gabe and Barbara Proctor Layman; sisters, Cathy Layman and Becky Layman; nephews, Andrew and Zach Layman; great-nephews and niece, Autumn, Aiden, Brayden, and Tanner Layman; and his mother and father-in-law, Darrell and Theresa Haire.
Services are 12 noon, Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Myke Templeton and Paul Shearn officiating. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
