Margaret Schenk Clark, 95, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Carmel Home.
She was born in Daviess County to the late Carl W. and Mary Josephine Schenk of Ensor. Margaret attended Thruston Elementary School where she played in the harmonica band. She was a dedicated wife, mother and nurturer and a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she had belonged to Ministers of Praise and Lourdes Leisure Group. She and her husband volunteered with Right to Life and taught marriage classes on the campus at Owensboro Catholic High where they also helped start the school marching band in the mid-1970’s. They shared many good times watching Notre Dame sports and traveling extensively. Margaret was raised in the country, and although she spent most of her married life in the city, she enjoyed working outdoors and made her flower garden come to life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James M. Clark in 1999; sisters, Kathleen Dean and Mary Sue Gillians; and a brother, Carl Schenk.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her children, Marilyn J. Hill of Weston, FL, Theresa A. Wahl (Steve) of Lanesville, IN, Loretta M. Raley (Paul) of Lawrenceville, GA, David M. Clark (Melinda) of Owensboro, James P. Clark (Perry Trosclair) of Humble, TX and Michael G. Clark (Sara) of Owensboro; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 26 at the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Rd.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will also be visitation at the Carmel Home Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
