Carol Sue Ward Coons, 60, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at her home. She was born December 25, 1958 in Daviess County to the late James R. and Louise Lancaster Ward. Carol was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a 1977 graduate of Owensboro High School and had worked as a teacher’s aid for a number of years at Daviess Co. Middle School. She enjoyed U.K. basketball, traveling, and going to casinos.
Carol was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Wigginton, a brother, Paul Gauselman, a niece, Amanda Warren Martin, and a nephew, Steven Coons.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, John H. Coons, two sons, Matt Coons and wife Jill and Joshua Coons and wife Amber, all of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Haley, Blake, Reese, Karter, and Kennedy Coons, three sisters, Patty Booth and husband Billy of Owensboro, Linda Warren and husband Darryl of Owensboro, and Debi Bogle and husband Dickie of Hobe Sound, Florida, two brothers, Billy Ward and wife Debbie of Owensboro and Randall Ward of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service for Carol Sue Coons will be Noon Friday, January 25, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
