Sharon Gaye Mayfield Logsdon

May 21, 1937 - January 31, 2019

Sharon Gaye Mayfield Logsdon, 81, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born in Whitesville on May 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Lillian Smith Mayfield. Mrs. Logsdon was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Catholic Church where she volunteered for many activities. She enjoyed traveling; spending time outdoors, especially trips to the beach and gardening; taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and UK basketball.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, James Robert Logsdon, Sr.; daughters, Janet Lawrence (Bill Overstreet), and Donna (Kevin) Millay; a son, James R. (Crystal) Logsdon, Jr.; grandchildren, Bradley (Jenny) Lawrence, Chad Thompson, James (Hillary) Thompson, Drew (Jenni) Logsdon, and Melanie Millay; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Patsy) Mayfield and Lawes (Sharon) Mayfield; and sisters, Mona Clark and Jackie Mattingly.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St Jude Childrens’ Hospital.
