Bruce Pace 69, of Calhoun, Kentucky, formerly of Evansville passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his home in McLean County. Paul Bruce Pace was born November 25, 1953 in Benton, Illinois to the late Sherwood and Ruth Ann Rice Pace and was married to the former Karen June Wahl April 2, 1983.

Bruce was a devoted husband to his wife, June Pace, for 40 beautiful years. Their love story was one of mutual respect, shared laughter, and enduring companionship. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and happiness, where friends and family were always welcome. Bruce loved his current dog, “Pepper.” Throughout their 40 year marriage, the couple has had four different “Pepper” dogs.

Bruce’s professional life was spent in the scrap metal industry, where he developed a reputation for his honesty, integrity, and hard work. He was a respected buyer for several companies, retiring after a successful career with the Henry Fligetaub Company in Evansville. His professional journey was marked by his commitment to his work and his ability to build lasting relationships.

Bruce was a man of many interests and passions, each of which added a unique flavor to his life. He was an avid golfer, often spending his weekends on the greens, perfecting his swing. His love for both McLean County Football and Basketball as well as the University of Kentucky Basketball was well-known, and he rarely missed a game, always cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm and pride.

Bruce’s sweet tooth was legendary, and he had a particular fondness for homemade ice cream and chocolates. His family and friends will fondly remember his joy and satisfaction whenever he indulged in his favorite sweets.

A lifelong fan of thoroughbred horse racing, Bruce took his passion a step further by becoming an owner of three different racehorses. This venture brought him immense joy and satisfaction, and he often shared captivating stories of their races and victories.

In both his personal and professional life, Bruce was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering integrity. He lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with grace and enthusiasm. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room and a hearty laugh that will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Dorothy Moore Rice.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, June Pace; two brothers, Brad Pace and Brent Pace; a niece, Brittney Wright (Titus); a great nephew, Forest Wright; a brother-in-law, Tim Wahl (Terri); three sisters-in-law, Pam Arnold (Curt), Cindy Riley (James), and Lisa Vaught (Kevin); several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Bruce’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
