Mary Ann Mattingly, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Daviess County to the late Martin Francis “Budge” and Mary Mable Brown.
Mary Ann retired from American Cigar Company and was of the member of Our Lady of Lourdes. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, and time spent with her family, especially her sisters.
Mrs. Mattingly was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Mattingly in 1966; brothers, William Francis Brown, Robert Ellis Brown and Michael Lynn Brown.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin Peters (Greg) of Owensboro; a son, Wayne Mattingly (Carla) of Hartford; grandchildren, Jamie Gray (Mark), Joey Mattingly (Elaine), Beth Mattingly, Allison Giuffrida (Marc), and Ben Peters; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; beloved sisters, Nancy Payne (Joseph) of Hawesville, Charlotte Cecil of Philpot, Margaret Liles (William) of Owensboro, Doris Alsip (Thomas) of Philpot and Wanda Atherton (Carl) of Owensboro.
The Funeral Mass will be 12:00 PM Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation Thursday will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with prayers at 7:00 PM. Visitation on Friday will be at Our Lady of Lourdes from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Private burial will take place at St. Williams Cemetery in Knottsville.
