Delois Rae (Kitchens) Nanney, 90 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away peacefully at Ohio County Hospital on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was born May 1, 1933 in Ohio County to the late Charles and Della Peach Kitchens. Rae retired from General Electric in Owensboro, where she worked for 37 years. She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leniual “LC” Nanney; her son, Gary Nanney; a grandson, Cody Nanney; brothers, Roger Kitchens, Lyndell Kitchens and infant brother, Wyndell Kitchens.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ray of Beaver Dam; three sisters, June Ward, Rita Marshall and Barbara Sheler; grandson, Josh (Amanda) Wright; granddaughters, Miranda Hall, Megan (Saxton) Schmidt, grandson, Cory (Kara) Nanney; ten great grandchildren, Jaxton and Zoey Wright, Makayla and Noah Fulkerson, Sage, Cooper and Conrad Schmidt, Jakory, Kingston and Bexley Nanney.
The family would like to express their thanks to Home Sweet Home Care and Mandy Logsdon for such special care for Rae over the last few years.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jerry Alexander and Josh Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with Rae’s family from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 15 Patterson Road, Beaver Dam, Kentucky 42320. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
