Robert “Bob” F. Grady, 89, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born August 10, 1929 in Daviess County to the late Harold F. Grady and Mary Pauline Wilson Grady. Bob owned and operated Elite Cigar Store for over 50 years. He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. Bob attended St. Francis Academy. He enjoyed gardening, his flowers, traveling, and was an avid reader.
Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sister, Jane Roberts.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Timbrook Grady, his children, Bill (Lisa) Grady of Louisville, Mary Anne Grady of Key West, Florida, his 2 grandchildren, James Grady, Kallye Grady, his siblings, Bettie Wilson of Madisonville, Harold “Scooter” Grady of Owensboro, John (Marilyn) Grady of Danville, Virginia and Charlie Pat (Marie) Grady of Mesa, Arizona.
Graveside services will be at 2:30pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Sorgho Cemetery, with Brother Dennis McFadden officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 2:00pm Saturday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Wendall Foster Center 815 Triplett St, Owensboro, KY 42303; Kosair Children’s Hospital 1000 Breckenridge St #301, Owensboro, KY 42303; and Hospice of Western Kentucky 3419 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
