Johnnie M. Brown, 77 , of Smiths Grove passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born in Daviess County to the late William Barker and Ollie Mae Brown. Johnnie served in the U. S. Navy. He loved to read and enjoyed spending time with his family. Johnnie retired from Colonial Bakery, Whirlpool and Canteen.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Louise Hornsby Brown and a brother, Thomas Brown.
Johnnie is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Newton and Tracy Brown; grandchildren, Jessica (Zach Settles) Pierce, Chek (Kelly)Pierce, Eva Newton and Sophia Newton; great grandchildren, Kali and Cassius Pierce; and siblings, David Brown, Linda Tilman, Sandra Shadwick, Debra Burge, Donna Crow, Sharon Murphy and Robin Brown.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to the time of service.
