Lannie Bolton 77, of the Buck Creek Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Lannie Deon Bolton was born August 12, 1946 in Island, Kentucky to the late Edmund Spencer and Pauline Dawe Bolton and was married to the former Joyce Elaine Shelton on October 19, 1963. Lannie’s life was a rich tapestry of dedication to his family, passion for his interests, and service to his community.

Lannie’s life was one of steadfast dedication, not only to his work but to every person he met. After a successful career, Lannie retired as a superintendent from Envision Contractors in Owensboro, where he was respected for his leadership and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional life, Lannie was deeply involved in his community, operating the NASCAR Family Museum in Buck Creek for several years. This endeavor was a testament to his love for NASCAR, a passion that he shared with fellow enthusiasts and friends. He was also a member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were an integral part of his life.

Lannie was a man of many interests, each pursued with the same vigor and joy. He found solace in the quiet of deer hunting, and he took great pride in his carpentry and building projects. His hands were rarely still, as he loved creating and fixing things, leaving a legacy of his craftsmanship for all to admire. But above all, Lannie’s greatest joy was found in the laughter and love of his family, especially his cherished grandchildren, whom he adored spending time with.

Lannie’s life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and family. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, the projects he completed, and the community he helped build. The memories he created with his family and friends are indelible and will be cherished for generations to come.

In addition to his parents, Lannie was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Shelton Bolton, who died November 21, 2014 and by his brother, Ronald Bolton.

Lannie leaves behind a loving and extensive family, who will carry his memory forward. Survivors include his son, Rodney Bolton of Buck Creek; his daughter, Lannette Riley (Joey) of Buck Creek; his grandchildren, Cody Bolton (Chanleigh), Sierra Bolton (Shawn Price), Shana Bolton, Krystal Stinnett (Nick), Tiffany Moseley (Jason), Alex Riley (Aly), Tiffany Clark (Mike), Kymberli Riley (Charles Bryant), and Andrew Riley (Brittany); seventeen great-grandchildren; and by three sisters, Sissy Free of Livermore, Charlotte Brooks of Nuckols, and Teresa Hill (Leonard) of Buck Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Green River Memorial Gardens in Livermore. Friends may visit with Lannie’s family from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Musters in Livermore.
