Henry “Hank” Martin Shillinglaw, 94, of Hawesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin on November 13, 1929 to the late Earl and Erna Shillinglaw. Hank was a member of Lewisport United Methodist Church and was retired from Commonwealth Aluminum. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hank was a former Lewisport City Council member, Was a member of Lewisport Lion’s Club and a former Librarian at the Lewisport Branch of Hancock County Public Libraries.
Hank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Butler Shillinglaw; children, Rachel Ann Shillinglaw, David Shillinglaw, Susan Brown, Penny Green, Christopher Brown, James Green and Michael Green; grandchildren, Jeffrey Purgerson, Kasey Purgerson, Joshua Purgerson, Kyle Green, Kaylee Green and Hannah Green; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leo Shillinglaw and Donald Shillinglaw along with a niece and nephew.
Services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with burial following in Lewisport Cemetery. Hank’s family will be greeting friends on Sunday from 10 until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewisport United Methodist Church.
