Frances Johnson Osborne, 83, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at her home. Born in Nelson County on November 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Martin Earl and Mary Smith Johnson and was a member of STS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Osborne was devoted to her family. Cooking was her love language and she loved preparing for family gatherings. She has worked at the Carmel Home as a receptionist for 30 years and had deep passion to care for the residents, staff, and families of the home. In her later years, she also made many dresses for the Haiti Mission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leo Osborne in 2012 and an infant son, Stephen Keith Osborne.
Surviving are her children, Kevin (Carolyn) Osborne of Bartlett, TN, Karen Osborne of Owensboro, Kathy (Bryan) Hockman of Russellville, Karla (Jay) Bell of Owensboro, Keith (Ramona) Osborne of English, IN, Kellie Pfeiffer of Owensboro and Kurt (Melissa) Osborne of Owensboro; grandchildren, Beth Osborne of Hyde Park, OH, Olivia (David) Spears of Owensboro, Anthony Osborne and Leo Osborne of Bartlett, TN, Spencer Osborne and Carter Osborne of Owensboro; great-grandchildren, Molly Tudor, George Spears, and Mary Catherine Spears all of Owensboro; and a sister, Angela Craycroft of Louisville.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Carmel Home Chapel with Father Jason McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Carmel Home. Evening prayers will be 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
