Nicholas Goetz Jones, 33, of Owensboro, passed away suddenly while playing basketball with his Don Moore family on March 4, 2019. He was born March 28, 1985 in Atlanta, GA to William Russell and Kim Goetz Jones. He attended Kennesaw State University. Nick was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, golf and basketball. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and recently began to keep a close eye on the stock market. Nick loved an adventure, enjoyed hiking and loved his work at Don Moore in Car Sales. He was dedicated to his job and could be found on his days off delivering cars to customers. Nick was a proud member of A.A. He found great inspiration helping others. Nick integrated A.A. into his life and felt privileged when asked to share his story and lead meetings at his home group.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, William Russell Jones; and grandparents, James and Lillie Goetz and Harold and Bettye Jones.
He is survived by his mother, Kim Goetz Jones; sister, Lizie (Jeremie) Beaudry of Atlanta, GA; brother, William Russell Jones II of Louisville; nephew, William Goetz Beaudry; aunts and uncles, Karen Goetz, Godmother Dottie (Jim) Gary, Godfather Jimmy (Cindy) Goetz, Suzanne (Larry) Lee, Elaine (Mike) Mills, Dean (Tina) Jones, Becky (Marty) Mitchell, Teela (Stan) Watts and a host of cousins.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
