Judy Carol Ray, age 76, passed away on March 24, 2024, at her home in Henderson, KY, with loved ones by her side. She was born on June 28, 1947, in Etty, Pike County, KY. She was the daughter of Harve and Rissie (Little) Little and the granddaughter of William and Callie (Johnson) Little and Joseph and Anzie (Johnson) Little. She married Jimmie Ray on June 25, 1964, in Clintwood, Dickerson County, VA. During their 59 years of marriage, they lived in Virgie, KY, Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, Plant City, FL, Henderson, KY, Bowling Green, KY, and Louisville, KY.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Ray (Michelle) of Henderson, KY, and Kevin Ray (Amanda) of Naples, FL; two granddaughters, Tabitha Ray of Greenville, SC, and Isla Ray of Naples, FL; brothers, Dr. Ted Little of Polkton, NC, and Fred Little (Mary Jo) of Boiling Springs, SC. She will be missed by her sisters-in-law, Mary Little and Jackie Little, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie Ray; one son, James Keith Ray; infant sister, Billie Ann; sister, Bobbie Jo (Ray) Hartlage; and brothers, Jim Little and John Little.
Judy was a drag racer in her early days; she had an upholstery shop and helped restore cars that her son and husband built. She enjoyed working in the garden and loved her family genealogy. She won multiple photo and baking contests, as well as doing computer repair work. Judy also worked in the Henderson County School System, and half of Henderson County called her “Grandma.”
There will be no services. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of her arrangements.
