Roger Lynn Simon

Roger Lynn Simon, 63, of Owensboro passed away March 12, 2019 at the Heartford House under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born December 27, 1955 to the late Jerome Simon and Iona Rearden Simon. Roger was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He enjoyed sports, especially watching UK basketball & the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed entertaining family & friends with his magic tricks along with his constant ability to make everyone laugh. His gentle soul will be greatly missed by all who knew & loved him.

Roger, the youngest of seven children was preceded in death by his father & an older brother, Don Simon.

He is survived by his mother, a son, Robert Simon of Louisville, Ky, two grandchildren, Holly & Ethan & one great grandchild, Lilly. Roger is also survived by three brothers, Jerry Wayne Simon (Brenda), Daniel Bruce Simon (Robin), Joseph Allen Simon (Peggy) & two sisters, Brenda Faye Royal (Terry) & Sharon Kaye Layson (John), six nieces & seven nephews. Roger will also be missed by his loving friend, Shelley Branham.

Services will be 6 pm Friday, March 15, 2019 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Reverend Sinoj E. Pynadath officiating. Private burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
