On June 8, 2024 Ruth Anna (Mayfield) Clark went home to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully surrounded by family at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on February 16, 1952 to the late Nora and Eugene Mayfield. She spent her life loving her family as a domestic engineer. Ruth was a beloved wife and mother and resided in Whitesville, KY her entire life. She enjoyed reading, working with plants and flowers, watching Hallmark movies, listening to music and dancing. She loved spending time with her family and loved ones. She would light up the room with her smiles and had the warmest hugs of anyone you would ever meet in your entire life and was definitely well-known for this from her family. Her hugs were “an outpouring of love in every hug.” She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nora (2008) & Eugene Mayfield (2021), her brother Kenny (1966), her sister Jeannie (1968), her grandson Kody Harmon (2002).
Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Edward Andrew Clark, and her eight children Charles “Chuck” Clark, Mary Smith, Janet (Robert) Burden, Jim (Lyndsay) Clark, Karen (Aaron) Crowe, Michael Clark, Carolyn (Wayne) Rice, Amy (Clint) Higdon, 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prayers at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville with a burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery
