Bonnie L. Kays, 66, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, June 9, at her home. She was born October 30, 1957, to the late Grantham Lee Howard and Barbara Ann Colwell. Bonnie was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and was like a second mother to many. Bonnie enjoyed sipping on an ice-cold margarita and spending time with her grandchildren, who were her world.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ralph Kays Jr.; sisters, Sharon Lloyd, and Debbie Sherrill; and a brother, Darrel Lloyd.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lori Kays (Brian) and Ralph Kays III (Jamie); brothers, Terry Howard and Delbert Howard; sister, Donna White; grandchildren, Kaylee Steelman (Robert), Timothy Kays (Lauren), Adrian Jade Aldrich, Chloe Kays, Madden Rhoads, Medley Rhoads, Lucas Higdon, and Cash Kays; greatgrandchildren, Nolan Aldrich and Jhett Brooks Steelman.
The funeral service for Bonnie will be 2 PM Thursday, June 13, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
