Ezra Simms 85, of Nortonville, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his home in Nortonville. Ezra Junior Simms was born January 5, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Ezra and Dorothy Jarvis Simms and was married to the former Lois Marie Paris on February 14, 2009.
Ezra worked as a general laborer during his life.
In addition to his parents, Ezra was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marie Simms, who died December 12, 2018.
Ezra is survived by two sons, Jonathon Simms of Owensboro and Michael Wade Johnson of McDonald, Georgia; a daughter, Debra Gail Johnson of McDonald; 2 grandchildren; two brothers, Rocky Jones of St. Charles, Kentucky and Anthony Jones of Manitou; and three sisters, Helen Cissna, Jean Baldwin both of Nortonville and Trudy McElwain of Mortons Gap.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Ezra’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
