June 14, 1939 - July 12, 2024

Betty A. (Ford) Morris

Betty Ford Morris, 85, of Hawesville, beloved wife, mother, Ganny and sister passed away peacefully into the arms of her Father on July 12, 2024 after having a wonderful Life.

She was born on June 14, 1939 to the late Henry and Thelma Lanman Ford in Tell City, IN.  A strong lover of her family, she was a wonderful mother, an amazing grandmother and such a blessing to her great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and kept her “goody cabinet” stocked and ready for a visit.  She was preceded in death by her husband Wilford Morris, sisters Nancy Peter, Mary Marchand, Thelma Wolf, Velma Taylor and brother Henry Ford.

She is survived by her loving children, Kenny (Donna) Morris and Kevin (Jamie) Morris; grandchildren, Tori Morris, Duane Morris, Adam Morris and Tabatha Morris; 18 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Betty worked in production at GE for 29 years and retired on July 1, 1994.  She had a passion for meeting the needs of others and family was always a top priority.  Every visit she made was with full of snacks for people and animals alike.

A member of Blackford Baptist Church, she loved participating in her Sunday School class and had a great relationship with those ladies.  Her Class of Ruth purchased quilts and other things for those in need.

In her final moments, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Our Mom, Betty, and Ganny’s memory will live on in our hearts and stories as she is now celebrating in Heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Blackford Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.  Betty’s family will be greeting friends from 3 pm until 6 pm on Sunday at Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel and from 9 am until service time at Blackford Baptist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to her Sunday School Class at Blackford, The Class of Ruth.
