Deanie “Dee” M. Gabel, 70, of Owensboro, passed away on July 11, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Shelby and Capitola Crail Homles.
Dee was a retired semi-driver of over 30 years. She was an avid wrestlemaniac who “would often hear voices in her head.” Dee enjoyed spending time in her yard, vacuuming, and helping raise her tribe of many.
Surviving are her daughters, Shelly Holmes and Lynn Carf, as well as her chosen children; her grandchildren, Shawn (Tommesha) White, Jayme (Randy) Lovell, Jazmyn Massie, Linda Leach, Kaycee (Deion) Decker, Brandon Decker, and many chosen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her son, JR Massie.
Dee never met a stranger, and she will be missed by all that was blessed to be loved by her.
