Bobby Bivens

Bobby Bivens, 88, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at his residence. Bobby was born in Muhlenberg County on December 14, 1930 to the late Leo and Sarah Rhodes Bivens. He was a self-employed masonry contractor and enjoyed gardening. Most importantly, he faithfully attended and tithed to the church, and taught all his children to love the Lord Jesus by which all his sons became ordained in ministry.

Along with his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Ford Bivens, his siblings, Virginia DeArmond and Bill Bivens.

Bobby is survived by his children, Brenda Mattingly, Barry (Sandy) Bivens, Alan (Rita) Bivens, Brian Bivens, his brother, Dean Bivens, his grandchildren, Lori Clements, Jason Mattingly, Barrett Bivens, Audrea Ortiz, Brianna Bivens, Brandon Bivens, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 am Friday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Barry Bivens and Pastor Alan Bivens officiating. Burial will follow at Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, and again from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
