William Earl Sumner, 74, of Utica, passed away July 18, 2024, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care – Heartford House. The Daviess County native was born April 21, 1950, to parents Lonnie Sumner, Sr. and Maggie Wiggington.
William is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Claude and Nettie Sumner, James Edwards and Emma Farmer; siblings, Patricia Ervin, Lonnie, Jr., and Clifton Sumner; granddaughter, Kaylin Falloway; and great grandson, Maverick Sumner.
Left to cherish his memories are the love of his life, Joann Sumner; daughters, Mickie (Chris) Falloway, Angela (Gerry) Woods, and Serena (Mark) Thomas; siblings, Claudie (Ellen Sumner, Jerry (Doris) Sumner, Lydia (Dan) Griffin, Josephine (Marshall) Cockrell, Brenda Shock, and Nettie May Sumner; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A celebration of life for William will be held at a later date.
