Michael Allen “Mike” Hines, age 70 of Kirk, Ky passed away July 30, 2024 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on December 31, 1953, son of the late L D and Anna Muriel Rhodes Hines. Mike was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and a 1972 graduate of St. Romuald High School. He retired from the Breckinridge County Road Department where he was an equipment operator and truck driver.
Mike loved the outdoors. He enjoyed horseback riding and trail rides with his friends. Playing softball and basketball were other favorites of his. He was a lifelong farmer. Mike had an infectious smile and would always offer his opinion regardless of the discussion. His family was very important and they adored him.
Mike is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Don and Laura Hines of Kirk, KY
2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Pat and Philip Payne of McQuady, KY and Tracey and Larry Vowels of Kirk, KY.
Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11 AM with burial in the St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 3:30 – 8 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday.
