Zona Shain Bandy

November 12, 1938 - April 11, 2019

Zona Shain Bandy, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Heartford House, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on November 12, 1938, in Daviess County to the late Carson and Mary Smith Shain. Zona was a big UK basketball fan, an avid collector of Precious Moments and Hallmark Ornaments, and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds out in her yard. Zona was a member of Third Baptist Church for over 60 years. Most of all, Zona loved to spend time with her children and 27 great and great-great grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Claude Edward Bandy Sr.; and siblings, Helen, Bill, Andrew and James.

Zona is survived by her two daughters, Claudia Wilson (Harold) and Lori Ann Bandy (Scott Stafford); and two sons, Jon Michael Bandy (Cindy) and Ed “Moe” Bandy (Vickie); 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alton Shain; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend and caregiver, Mary.

The funeral service for Zona Bandy will be at 10 AM, Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Micah Spicer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 6 PM and Monday from 9 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville, KY.
