Dorothy Ann Haynes Smith, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born April 11, 1952 in Daviess County to the late Henry F. Haynes and Mildred D. Powers Haynes. Dorothy worked as a hair stylist and was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed drag racing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Jamie Devine.
She is survived by two sons, Brad Devine (Amy)and Bryan Devine (April); two daughters, Charlotte Lynne Taylor (John) and Pamela Smith Nigreville (Louis); grandchildren, April Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Hunter Devine, Hannah Devine, Kaden Devine, Bryson Devine, Dallas Barnett, Emily Barnett, and Stefanie Taylor Kocke; brother, Robert E. Haynes (Dianna); sister, Annie Bell Storm (Philip); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
