Timothy A. Coons, 67, a proud Veteran of the United States Army, of Evansville, IN, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at his home. He was born March 4, 1957 in Jefferson County, KY to Rev. Henry L. Coons, Jr. and Virginia Neighbors Coons.
He was a retired business owner and painter with Coons Contracting. He was most at peace in the outdoors, spending time in nature or near the water, gardening, and construction projects. He was an avid reader, an eclectic music lover and enjoyed singing. Most recently he found a community of Veterans at Lucas Place II in Echo Housing, at Vanderburgh County, where he was thriving and well-loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Williamson Coons; father, Rev. Henry L. Coons, Jr.; mother, Virginia Neighbors Coons; sister, Rebecca A Hampton; and a grandchild, Timothy Austin Blair.
Survivors include three daughters, Heather Blair (Tim), Wendy Coy (Mark), and Adrienne Coons; son, Andrew Coons; brother, Robert Coons (Deborah) of Whitesville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will be holding a private memorial service.
