Talan Chace West, 16, of Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was born February 2, 2008, in Warren County to Roxane Payton and Jesse West. Talan would have started his junior year at Bowling Green High School. He was an avid gamer and enjoyed learning about the history of the military. Talan loved hanging out with his best friends, Lily, Hunter, Eric, and Remi. His dream for after high school graduation was to open an IT firm with Jaron.
He was preceded in death by his Papaw Ronnie West.
Talan leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Roxane Payton of Bowling Green; father, Jesse (Morgan) West of Morgantown; brother, Elias McCrystal of Hartford; big brother at heart, Jaron “J-Bird” Payton-Garrett of Hartford; grandmothers, Rebecca Herlien-Payton of Beaver Dam and Sandy West of Morgantown; aunts and uncles Dylan (Jayla) Herlien-Payton of Beaver Dam, Jesse Herlien-Payton of Bowling Green, Rochelle Cox of Hartford, and Ashley (Brent) Lindsey of Beaver Dam; great aunts and uncles, Lisa “LiLi” (Tyson) Payton-Garrett of Hartford, and Mark (Carolyn) Payton of Melrose, Massachusetts as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 12, 2024, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Pastor Mark Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Payton Cemetery in Grayson County. Friends may visit with Talan’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
